Super Sunday

Two classic sporting events made my day today. And to add to that my heroes won: Roger Federer won his fifth consecutive Wimbledon title and Kimi Raikonnen won the British Grand Prix.

The race was close. It saw some awesome driving by both the Ferrari drivers, Fillipe Massa and Kimi and smart strategies being implemented by Mclaren and Ferrari. It could have been more interesting had Massa not started from the pits. I enjoyed watching each of the 59 laps 🙂

Next up was Federer winning the battle agianst Rafael Nadal in 3hrs 45 mins. What a match! Nadal played really well considering the fact that this was the grass court. Amazing rallies, exquisitely played cross court shots, Federer’s 24 aces, the drop shots and the volleys, every minute was a treat. But I must admit that there were moments I changed the channel coz I couldn’t see Federer losing the game on his serve. I was getting nervous!!! Indeed a breath-taking finale.

Its very rare that I get so ecstatic. Though my pulse shot high at times, I loved it 🙂
